Så här de första dagarna på det nya arbetet så har jag börjat titta djupare på responsive web design. Snubblade bland annat över mallen Golden Grid System som kan underlätta när du ska göra din egna adaptiva design.

Förutom att vara förberedd för olika skärmstorlekar så kan du slå på rutnät som hjälper dig att planera och placera innehållet på sajten.

Högst upp på min önskelista för iPhone-appen är möjligheten att kunna tilta telefonen och få det stora tangentbordet som i Safari.

Bifogat är lite semesterbilder. Kan du se vem som bakom mig i en av bilderna längre ned?

df-one is a simple and clean theme width a traditional blog structure. It has widget support and has design for all the standard widgets in WordPress 2.3.3. It has support for the Easy Gravatar-plugin.

df-one supports the Easy Gravatar plugin (I have not had time to test the built in support for Gravatars in WordPress 2.5 on the theme). Just download it and activate it! FYI: I would recommend a gravatar size of “30″. You set the gravtar size in the Easy Gravatar options menu.

Installation

• Download the theme, like you just did i presume, unzip and upload the folder “df-one” in the wp-content/themes folder
• Activate the theme. Your done!

Optional
• Download, install and activate the Easy Gravatar plugin.
• Set the size of the gravatar to “30″ in the Easy Gravatar options page.

Language

Using swedish translation

I have included an swedish translation. Just drag and drop the .mo file in the root directory of the theme to use the swedish translation. Mycket nöje!

Other translation

If you want to use a diffrent language than english, you could create your own .po file for translation. Poedit is an excellent program to use when you create your own translation.

Duplictate and edit the .po file that i have included in the translations folder and save it. Poedit will automaticly create an .mo file when you save your .po file. Place the .mo file in the root directory of the df-one theme.

You also need to edit your wp-config.php file with the right filename for your translation. You can read more about WordPress in your language over here.

Disclaimer

This theme is the first one that i have ever created, so you live and you learn. I have probably a lot more to learn when it comes to theme creation.

I have based my theme on the Sandbox theme. Sandbox is a theme for theme creators, and it is just great! If you want to create your own design, Sandbox is the way to go.

Jag har länge haft planer på att göra ett WordPress-tema. Nu börjar jag ta mig tid till att göra det. Har suttit i någon vecka och pulat med ett första hemmasnickrat WordPress-tema. Jag är så full av fantasi så att jag kallar det df-one. Den är i alphaversion, men jag tycker att df-one är så mycket bättre i alpha än det jag körde på innan.

Det finns fortfarande saker som jag vill tweaka med temat. Kommentarerna och trackbacks ser inte helt klockrent ut. Kommentardesignen ser fortfarande bättre ut i huvudet än vad det gör på sajten. Har inte riktigt fått till det där tycker jag. Är dock ganska nöjd med ikonerna som jag har ritat.

Jag har testat temat i IE7 och Firefox 2 på en Vista-maskin och Firefox på en Mac. Så klart även i min iPhone. Det ser i stort sett okej ut i alla webbläsare jag har testat det i förrutom kommentarerna i IE.

Grundmallen för temat är Sandbox. Ett tema helt strippat från design för dig som vill göra teman från grunden. Är du sugen på att skapa WordPressteman så rekommenderar jag Sandbox, det är det bästa jag har stött på.

Skulle någon vara intresserad så släpper jag temat löst när jag har hamrat ut en del designbuggar.

Vill verkligen ta tag i detta. Något som skulle få mig att verkligen ordna upp och centrera min nätvärvo här på feldt.nu är den eviga frågan om teman. Jag har laddat hem ett antal teman och testat dem. Men ingen har jag varit nöjd med. Detta tema, som jag kör nu, har jag i stortsett byggt själv. Och det är något som jag alltid har tänkt. Att det som syns här på feldt.nu ska vara något jag har byggt själv. Men jag börjar inse att tiden inte räcker till för att göra en design och skapa html och css för den.

Så. Har du tips på schyssta teman? Jag har faktiskt ingen aning om vad jag söker efter. Jag vill ha en clean design helt enkelt.
